As you get closer to Him, you WILL come to understand Evil as He does. It is unavoidable. As you move away from Him, you will fall prey to fairy tales, myths and delusions. Also unavoidable. If you walk & talk with Him, you are a guaranteed target. Evil will get very, very close to you. Very close. A wonderfully magical moment is when you realize the difference between fear and hatred, and who deserves fear, and who deserves hatred.
"Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." Matt 10:28
Do not view that as a direct threat from Him, but a consequence of embracing False over True. False perishes (by definition). Truth is Life Everlasting (by definition). Fear the Truth, cause without it you perish. Fear not False, for it does perish already.
