Not really. The law would apply to actual, measurable human products. Catholicism interprets transubstantiation via Aristotelian categories, now defunct from modern science.

 

We are so steeped in science these days that what the Catholics say about it is well-nigh incomprehensible to the modern mind.

Much as we would like everyone to lay down their guns immediately, it's not gonna happen. The real world has inertia, and circumstances have to be prepared (as in PRE-pared).

 

POTUS says things that have to sound nice. I take such things with a grain of salt. We didn't defeat ISIS, but ISIS is well on the way to being defeated, and Syria and Russia can be trusted to do the rest.

 

As Trump said in his inauguration speech, "I inherited a mess."
