No I wasn't talking about a longitudinal SOUND wave, I'm talking about a different species of electromagnetic wave where the vibration is along the direction of the wavefront's travel, rather than at right angles to the direction of travel. It's something entirely differerent, isn't a sound wave (although it propagates in a manner analogous to a sound wave), and it passes through matter unobstructed according to an informant.
I don't know if this is true. There are credible reports of it being true.
