While Trump's masterful psyop to fund the Wall in the House was going on, a strange synchronicity of events have been happening on WWE programming. If you don't follow or aren't a fan of wrestling allow me to give a brief synopsis.
For nearly a year WWE fans and quite a few insiders have been complaining about the stale match-ups and storylines being presented. Basically any new star who begins to get over with the fans organically is either booked to look weak or just plain buried. Meanwhile the talent that has been getting the big pushes are getting booed and receiving "boooooooring" chants from the crowds. Ratings are down as is attendance in the arenas, and yet revenue is pouring in from tv rights, merchandise, licensing, ad sales, etc.
Suddenly, out of nowhere the entire McMahon family (minus Linda) comes out on both brands and admit that the shows have sucked and that they hear the audience complaints. A week after this announcement and the kayfabe on-air management firings, the pace and the booking hasn't really changed causing online smarks to kvetch.
And then Daniel Bryan cuts this promo;

I'm not saying that WWE should be considered predictive of events. I'm saying that they are tuning into the movement and using it to base storylines going forward. Vince is very tuned into cultural trends. What this should tell us all is that we are starting to crack into mainstream entertainment.
