Someone mentioned the Roosevelt Hotel and the Alice and Wonderland sculpture in central park. There was an "abandoned" tunnel in the area that is now the Q line, which runs more or less right under the sculpture in Central park.
Now look at the location of the Guggenheim and Carmines and where the Q train runs.
It is a stretch, it's just awfully coincidental with those locations and the dig this morning.

Not the point. The search was for underground passages, of which there was one, that was later used to form the Q line. It happens to run under the Alice and Wonderland statue.
