the progressive goddess: ISIS

She became the most of powerful of all the gods and goddesses in ancient Egypt

Isis is known as the quintessential goddess because every symbol and goddess name always had a connection to her.

In the Book of the Dead, she is referenced as:

She who gives birth to heaven and earth

She who seeks the righteousness in her people

She who seeks justice for the poor people

She who knows the orphan

She who seeks shelter for the weak people

She who knows the widow spider

Her Symbolism

Isis is depicted as a woman wearing a long sheath dress with and empty throne on her headdress. This symbolized her husband’s absence following his death and her role as seat of the power of the pharaoh. Alternatively, she is also seen as a woman with a headdress of a solar disc and horn. More rarely, she is a woman with the head of a cow.

In some forms, she is a woman with outstretched wings making her the goddess of the wind. Often she is shown with her child son, Horus, with a crown and a vulture. She is also often seen as a woman holding a lotus. In the heavens, her symbol is the star Sept (Sirius).

Sirius is part of the Winter Triangle (a Mirrored Delta)

Cult of Isis

Her cult following even became the most formidable opponent of the Christian religion. Despite being pushed into almost obscurity, she has remained influential in many religions.

Some early Christians even called themselves Pastophori, which means shepherds or servants of Isis. This word is the origin of the word pastor.

To date, Isis is still revered by the Wiccan religion.

Wicca also termed Pagan Witchcraft, is a contemporary Pagan new religious movement. It was developed in England during the first half of the 20th century and was introduced to the public in 1954 by Gerald Gardner, a retired British civil servant.

Wicca is typically duotheistic, worshipping a Goddess and a God. These are traditionally viewed as the Moon Goddess and the Horned Goddess.

Wiccans celebrate several seasonal festivals of the year, commonly known as Sabbats. Collectively, these occasions are termed the Wheel of the Year

As American Christianity slowly exits the scene, witchcraft has suddenly become popular again.

According to The Telegraph, the number of Americans who identify as witches now outpace the total number of Presbyterians – 1.5 million.

Following the president's victory over Hillary Clinton in 2016, witches gathered to cast a collective binding spell against him.
