They slipped that in. Once it was "smog" that was a pollutant. But then they switched to CO2, which was just one component of smog. You don't see much about smog anymore because, I think, they pretty much solved that problem.

Yes. A little to the left and below Venus (if that's what it is). It should be there tomorrow morning also. There are astronomy apps for iPod and phones that are helpful for identifying known objects so you can know what's unknown. There are astronomy programs for kaptops/desktops also. Look up stellarium.org for a free one.
