This guy was caught out because his Mexico caravan story seemed odd to another person with specific knowledge of the events of the caravan the reporter gave..
Point being, he wasn't caught out because his stories were so different from other reports that suspicions were raised. One would think that should be a come to Jesus moment for the products of the MSM over there, but I ain't holding my breath.
Another point would be that the need to embellish/synthesize/exaggerate most likely indicates that "just the facts, ma'aam" doesn't sell. I'm going with this dude isn't a one off manifestation of current day reporting.
