I think I might have figured out what the cult of Satanist mean by their black eyes.

Wotan gives up one eye for Gold or esoterically Gold meaning the secrets of power in the World. He was willing to trade freya or love or the feminine for power.

The Satanist are esoterically saying they are giving up love or the feminine for material wealth on earth. Throwing a way their soul for things in the material plane that have no long meaning but feel good right now. Knowing they have thrown away their everlasting soul they are attempting to live forever without God. So they drink blood and steal energy from humanity.
