I heard a radio interview, included in a YouTube video, where a professor from San Jose State was relating his experience during the Camp Fire. He had been in Berkeley during another large fire (many years ago, forget which year) where he had watched it start and spread from a high vantage point.
He contrasted the Camp Fire by noting that it spread MUCH faster and that it wasn’t spread by embers but instead by spontaneous combustion.
I can’t find it now, but if anyone knows what I’m referencing, please provide a link. It was compelling testimony about the suspiciously odd nature of these recent fires.
