Trump forgoes Florida Christmas trip, stays at White House amid government shutdown

Melania and Barron on their way back to Washington

President Donald Trump is forgoing a trip to south Florida for Christmas as the government remains partially shutdown due to a budget stalemate, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced Saturday.

"Due to the shutdown, President Trump will remain in Washington, D.C. and the First Lady will return from Florida so they can spend Christmas together," Sanders said.

Trump's wife, Melania, and his son, Barron, already left for the "Winter White House" on Friday.

The Senate adjourned Saturday without a plan to reopen the government, but plans to reconvene on Dec. 27.

Politico reported that it obtained a White House staff email that said the president could leave at noon on Saturday, which would have been a day earlier than planned. The plan was scrapped when it became clear that the government was not fully reopening.

"I am in the White House, working hard," Trump tweeted Saturday.

"…We are negotiating with the Democrats on desperately needed Border Security (Gangs, Drugs, Human Trafficking & more) but it could be a long stay," he added.

Some media outlets criticized Trump for continuing his plans to travel to his luxury resort while the government furloughed hundreds of thousands of workers and stopped some federal services just ahead of the holidays.

At issue is Trump's demand for $5 billion to fund the construction of a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border. Democrats have said they instead want to spend $1.6 billion on drones, sensors, and other security measures. If Trump agrees to that plan, it would mark a sharp reversal of his insistence on the wall.

White House aides reportedly took notice of how it would appear should Trump continue his travel plans amid the shutdown.

"Maybe he thinks if the government shuts down, he can golf more comfortably," House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi told reporters on Wednesday.

What is the impact?

The partial shutdown will cause more than 800,000 federal workers to face furloughs or to work without pay. The shutdown also impacts funding for the departments of Homeland Security, Transportation, Interior, Treasury, Agriculture, State and Justice, along with national parks and forests.

Funding was already approved for the Defense Department, Veterans Affairs and Health and Human Services, according to published reports. Those areas are expected to continue operating as usual.

HIDDEN MESSAGES: The World in 2019 According to the Economist Magazine

The Meaning of the Cryptic Messages on The Economist’s “The World in 2019” Cover

A look at the cryptic symbolism found on the cover of the Economist’s “The World in 2019” which includes the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. What are they trying to tell us?

By Vigilant Citizen

Every December, the reputed magazine The Economist publishes a special edition that predicts the trends and the events of the year to come. And every time, the cover of these editions is an elaborate collection of images referring to various people and concepts. While the meaning of some of these images is obvious, others appear to be coded for “those in the know”. This year’s edition is no exception. In fact, it is more cryptic than ever.

Why would anybody spend time deciphering these covers? Because The Economist isn’t just any publication – it is directly connected with the world’s elite. It is partly owned by the Rothschild banking family of England and its editor-in-chief, John Micklethwait, has attended the Bilderberg Conference several times. In short, the leadership at The Economisthas inside knowledge of the elite’s agenda, and they do their best to promote it.

Other Images

The cover contains several other images referring to events The Economist is predicting to come in 2019. Here’s a quick rundown.

At the top of the cover, an arrow points from da Vinci’s flying machine towards the moon. This might be a reference to the many private companies aiming to travel to the moon in 2019. It should also be noted that we’re seeing the crescent moon on the cover, the main symbol associated with Islam.

There’s another “flying machine” (a real one) under the words “New Horizons of Ultimate Thule”. This refers to NASA’s New Horizons spacecraft getting close to the mysterious, distant object Ultima Thule on New Year’s Day.

Under the moon is a volcano. Are we expecting another volcano to be erupting soon?

At the bottom left (standing on Brazil) is a pangolin, which is the trafficked mammal on earth. It is under the threat of extinction.

2019 will be the 150th anniversary of Gandhi’s birth; It is also the 200th anniversary of Walt Whitman’s birth (shown under Pinnochio).

Angelina Jolie is the face of Mona Lisa – da Vinci’s masterpiece. At the top of the cover we see “Angelina Jolie: Responding to Refugees”. She might be used to promote the UN’s new “Migration Pact”. Indeed, Jolie is currently the Special Envoy for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency. She focuses on “major crises that result in mass population displacements, undertaking advocacy and representing UNHCR and the High Commissioner at the diplomatic level”.

In Conclusion

The cover of “The World in 2019” is an apt reflection of the occult elite. It mixes occult symbolism with references to the control and manipulation of the masses. It also takes a bizarre pleasure at predicting catastrophic events while keeping people guessing with vague and unexplained references. The elite likes to withhold information and reverse writing emphasizes this fact.

At the center of it all is the Vitruvian Man, a symbol used by the Masons to represent a human reaching full potential. However, the 2019 version is blinded and distracted by things pushed by the elite. Will we allow ourselves to follow the bleak path that they predict?

Italian Minister tells NGO Italy doesn’t want migrants: “Our ports are closed!”

Italy’s populist Interior Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini announces that Italian ports are CLOSED.

The migrants were picked up from Libya intending to go to Malta but were turned away from Malta so the NGO Proactiva Open Arms requested to be allowed entry to Italy.

Salvini replied: “My answer is clear: Italian ports are closed!” Mr Salvini tweeted. “For the traffickers of human beings and for those who help them, the fun is over.”

This sparked anger in the human trafficking NGO who replied on twitter: “We continue with 311 people on board, without port and in need of supplies,” saying that they had rescued more than 300 migrants from three vessels in difficulty, including men, women, children and babies.

Committing the logical fallacy of appealing to emotions, they went on to say:

“If you could feel the cold in the images, it would be easier to understand the emergency. No port to disembark and Malta’s refusal to give us food. This isn’t Christmas.” An odd thing to say given the majority of the migrants are of the Islamic faith, thereby not celebrating Christmas anyway.

Tweeting further to Matteo, Open Arms’ founder Oscar Camps went onto say that “your rhetoric and your message will, like everything in this life, end. But you should know that in a few decades your descendants will be ashamed of what you do and say.”

Many countries are showing opposition to the economic migrants paying a high financial cost to be brought by human traffickers when real refugees can’t afford to and are left behind in their countries.

Springtime of Peoples: Europe Is in a Revolt and It's Wonderful

"People are hungering for change, for the alternative that we have been told for 40 years does not exist"

The emptiest, dumbest platitude of our time, uttered both by establishment stiffs like the Archbishop of Canterbury and by self-styled radical leftists, is that the 1930s have made a comeback. Treating that dark decade as if it were a sentient force, a still-extant thing, observers from both the worried bourgeoisie and the edgy left insist the Thirties have staggered back to life and have much of the West in their reanimated deathly grip. Looking at Brexit, the European turn against social democracy, the rise of populist parties, and the spread of ‘yellow vest’ revolts, the opinion-forming set sees fascism everywhere, rising zombie-like from its grave, laying to waste the progressive gains of recent decades.

This analysis is about as wrong as an analysis can be. Comparing contemporary political life to events of the past is always an imperfect way of understanding where politics is at. But if we really must search for echoes of today in the past, then it isn’t the 1930s that our era looks and feels like – it’s the 1840s. In particular 1848. That is the year when peoples across Europe revolted for radical political change, starting in France and spreading to Sweden, Denmark, the German states, the Italian states, the Habsburg Empire, and elsewhere. They were democratic revolutions, demanding the establishment or improvement of parliamentary democracy, freedom of the press, the removal of old monarchical structures and their replacement by independent nation states or republics. 1848 is often referred to as the Spring of Nations.

UNGA vote on INF Treaty resolution new blow to global security, Moscow warns

The Russian Foreign Ministry said dismantling the INF Treaty might result in new arms races in several regions of the world

MOSCOW, December 22. /TASS/. Moscow views as disappointing the results of the United Nations General Assembly voting on the Russia-drafted resolution calling for strengthening the RussiaN-US Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF Treaty), and also as a new crackdown on the architecture of global security, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Saturday.

"Results of the UN General Assembly voting on the Russia-drafted resolution, co-authored by ten more countries, cannot but disappoint. [The resolution] lacked a few votes so that the arithmetic majority of the nations could unambiguously and without any invented excuses express their support to viability of this treaty through activation of a detailed and constructive dialogue by the sides, taking into account the existing mutual concerns," the statement said.

"Thus, the architecture of the world’s security and stability took a new blow. Henceforth, after having the INF Treaty dismantled, the world’s several regions might be plunged simultaneously into an arms race, or even in a direct confrontation," the foreign ministry said.

According to the ministry, in order to pass the draft by two thirds of the vote, it would have been required "that a sufficient number of US allies and closest partners demonstrated independence in international affairs and, despite Washington’s toughest pressure, showed a responsible attitude to preserving the system of arms control mechanisms, which have cracked because of the US."

Those countries, mostly NATO members, acted as opponents of the INF Treaty, regardless of their assurances of the treaty’s significance, the statement said.

Nonetheless, Moscow thanked the nations that backed Russia’s efforts at the UN and "thus gave a convincing signal about urgency" of the INF Treaty.

On Friday, the United Nations General Assembly voted down the resolution in support of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty. Forty-three nations voted for the document, forty-six were against and another seventy-eight abstained.

Among those who voted against the resolution were the United States, the European Union nations, Japan, Turkey, Israel and Ukraine. The document was supported by China, member nations of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Iran, Syria and a number of Latin American countries.
