the solution should start with making school administrators and school district have a legal duty to protect the children. Parents don't know that the school has NO DUTY to protect their kids and they relinquish CONTROL over their child while the child is at school. If you force a legal duty to protect then the bullying that often leads to suicide would end. This school wouldn't have told the shooter he can't come on campus with a backpack, they would have gotten a restraining order against him which would have prohibited his purchase of a gun. Until parents know their is no law requiring a school to protect the kids, there won't be security at any school. I , as a parent, found out about the legal duty the hard way
