Background
Dr. David E. Liddle, Ph.D., is a Consulting Professor of Computer Science at Stanford University .He served as a Senior Advisor of U.S. Venture Partners. Dr. Liddle served as a Venture Partner and Partner at USVP. He joined the U.S. Venture Partners in January 2000. He has a long association with USVP, having served for nearly ten years on its Technical Advisory Board. He worked with many venture capitalists in his career. His extensive experience in research and development has focused largely on human-computer interactions. He served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Interval Research Corporation until 1999, which he co-founded in 1992. Prior to that, he founded Metaphor Computer Systems, Inc. in 1982 and served as the President and Chief Executive Officer. Dr. Liddle served as the Vice President of New Systems Business Development of IBM Personal Systems. From 1972 to 1982, he held various R&D and management positions at Xerox Corporation and at its Palo Alto Research Center Incorporated, where Dr. Liddle served for ten years. He served as the Head of the System Development Division. While there, Dr. Liddle served as Vice President and General Manager of office systems division. He serves as a Member of the Board of Directors of CipherMax, Inc., PacketHop, Inc., Military Advantage, Inc., Starwave, Axiom Microdevices, Inc., Stanford University School of Engineering and AltoBeam (BJ) Technology Co., Ltd. He has been a Director of SRI International, Inc. since 2011. He has been a Director of Inphi Corporation since July 12, 2012. He is currently on the boards of the SETI Institute. His Board involvement at USVP includes LineStream Technologies, Inc., and Klocwork, Inc. He served as a Director of The New York Times Company from 2000 to May 6, 2015. He served as a Director of Karmasphere Inc. He served as Director of Ditrans Corp., Instantis, Inc., Gear6, Inc., University of California Berkeley, Broderbund Software and Borland International. He served as Director of Ticketmaster Group, Inc. since September 1994. He served as Director of MaxLinear, Inc. since November 2004. He served as a Director of Electric Cloud, Inc., Optichron, Inc., Sybase, Inc. and T-RAM Semiconductor, Inc. He served on the Board of the Colleges of Engineering at Stanford University and The Public Library of Science, UC Berkeley and University of Michigan. Dr. Liddle has served on the DARPA Information Science and Technology Committee and as the Chairman of the Board of NAS Computer Science and Telecommunications. In addition, he recently chaired the CSTB study on Wireless Technology Prospects and Policy Options. He served on the Board of the Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose in 2004. He served as the Chairman of the Board of the Santa Fe Institute. Dr. Liddle contributions to human-computer interaction design earned him the distinction of Senior Fellow at the Royal College of Art. He earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering at the University of Michigan and an MSEE, MSCS and Ph.D. at the University of Toledo, where his dissertation focused on reconfigurable computing machines.
Ms. Ruthann Quindlen has been a Venture Advisor to SRI (Stanford Research Institute) since April 2014. Ms. Quindlen co-founded Ironweed Capital, where she was a Partner. She was a General Partner/Managing Director of Institutional Venture Partners (IVP) since 1994. At IVP, she worked with her partners to evaluate investments in Internet infrastructure, electronic commerce, web-based services and digital media companies including Tivo and Netflix. She served in the software industry since 1970's. She served as Managing Director of Alex Brown & Sons. She assisted a variety of software firms and worked on the IPOs of leading software companies including Microsoft, AOL, Aldus, Borland, Broderbund, Electronic Arts, McAfee Associates and the 3DO Corporation. She led the financings for two other recent public offerings, iGo (IGOC) and The Lightspan Partnership (LSPN). She serves as a Director of Rovi Guides, Inc. since October 20, 2004. She serves as a Member of Business Advisory Council of Illuminate Ventures. Ms. Quindlen was on the Board of Directors of Gemstar-TV Guide and Georgetown University. She served as a Director of HearMe (HEAR) and Cogit Corporation. Ms. Quindlen served as an Independent Director of Rovi Corporation (formerly, Macrovision Solutions Corp.) from 2004 to September 7, 2016. She served as a Director of Luminate Software Corporation, Portera Systems, Alex Brown & Sons Inc., and FaceTime Communications, Inc. She served as a Director of Digital Impact Inc. from November 1998 to May 7, 2004 and Acxiom Digital from November 11, 1998 to May 7, 2004. She has written a book entitled Confessions of Venture
