Goys! It just occurred to me. Trump said Mattis was retiring at the end of February. The Bill Congress put in front of Trump was a stop gap for full budget approval through Feb 21. 2019.

 

Could the fact that the Dem's refuse to fund the Wall be the trigger? It's looking that way.

Yes, Dens were responsible. The budget was approved by the Republian lead House to move to the Senate with a 5.7 B budget of the Wall. Without Dem votes it would not pass.

 

Schumer refused to get the Dem votes. They then had private WH meetings withTrump to come to an agreement before bringing another vote the floor, they even lowered the Wall amount to 2.5 B but Schumer basically said he would not discuss anything that included ANY Wall funding.
