It's looking more like Christianity is more a pursuit of an archetype that the modern world has undertaken, than being useful/pragmatic truth which we can benefit from understanding more about.
Here's the thing: the bible is immensely useful for many reasons. Most prominently of which, is the "code" that's been transcribed within the language of the bible. It's my estimation that English variants haven't carried with it the messages originally embedded within the bible. I'm fond of the idea that the Vulgate was denounced for good reason (the other side's reason, I mean). But, I'm also confident Hebrew versions will give a similar message along this vein.
Just a thought. Although, I can CERTAINLY see the utility that emerges from Christianity. At best, (to me) it appears to be a moral guideline for future societies.
Either way, revelations of made real by Schelling appears to reveal that there's much more to mythology than what we are willing to understand. Check out his late works and you'll see what I mean.
