Waiting for undiscovered stars learned. Although I did post an article re University of Phoenix posting on Dec. 7 that they were able to discover a new area of the galaxy that is a "nursery" for new star systems they had not seen before. They could even see planets forming around the stars.

Noone commented on it. Guess it was not deemed notable.

Possible. You might find this interesting- There has actually been 2 celestial Dark to Light situations at play during this time period.

The first was a LUNAR one in which we went from a NEW MOON on Dec. 7, when the moon is Dark, to the FULL MOON on Dec. 21.

Immediately followed by the SOLAR one which you already know just began our traverse from the shortest day of the year.

Does this concidence happen often?

I don't know. Interesting though.
