.40 cal AFAIK is not a subsonic rond (required for true suppressed ops).

I do not believe military ever used .40 wither. It was popularized by the FBI, then the FBI went back to 9mm some LEO are still stuck on it.

.45 now that is an awesome suppressible round.

.45 ACP Is a subsonic round, period. So IMO It is a better suppressible caliber.

Available and commonly used in Pistol Calibre sub machine guns are 2 different things. But thanks for the education.

The original question was in regard to Suppressed MP5 weapons used by the military, I do not think the 40 ever took hold there even in SF.
