1) if you're young enough, wait it out

2) if you have obtained the ownership and the authority, ask broker to put all your stock into a "cash" account. it means selling at prevailing and it's basically "parked" until you decide your next move.

3) go for precious metals, rare earth minerals, gemstones/jewelry

4) go buy a ticket to the ball game and watch US currency changeover. there probly isn't much to do until then. But definitely take Option #2 now while you weigh your next move.

yeah, that cash in the bank thing….. not a very good idea. you didn't hear it from me, get yourself a nice size gun safe for your metals and your cash. thing is, it's the very nature of the cash that will soon be up for change. so keeping paper cash (bank or safe) may not be protection if paper loses its' value. that's why Option #3 - hell go invest in a pot enterprise, probly make more money. dental hygienist, very difficult to get admitted, picky. still a good suggestion as long as your niece doesn't mind looking into other peoples' mouths, smelly breath, potentially infectious peripheral spatter and standing on her feet all day. still a good suggestion; or she could learn all about cannabis and start a business or go to work for existing.
