Liberal Activists Call for The Next James Bond To Be TRANSGENDER

ritish actor Dominic West was among a group of progressive activists urging producers of the traditional James Bond franchise to abandon 007's male gender roots and cast a transgender for the next Bond. West insisted there are plenty of transgender individuals in the UK's military to support making the next MI6 agent male-to-female. "They should have a transgender Bond because there are a lot of transgender people in the army. That’s a brilliant idea," West told the Sunday Times. West even had his ideas for the role, suggesting Hannah Graf, whom the Independent states is the "highest-ranking transgender soldier in the British army."

Graf is married to his transgender partner, Jake Graf - both of whom have appeared in the film. Telling the British media she though ti was a great idea: "I don’t think I’m going to become an actress anytime soon, but there’s no reason why there shouldn’t be a transgender Bond. We’ve seen too many men in hero-type roles and women playing second fiddle.” But liberal progressive may not get what they want anytime soon.

Longtime producers of James Bond, the Broccoli family, have frequently ruffled at the thought of intentionally changing Ian Fleming's signature character. Barbara Broccoli, the series' executive producer, ruled out the idea of a female Bond earlier this year. “Bond is male,” Broccoli she told the Guardian. “He’s a male character. He was written as a male, and I think he’ll probably stay as a male.”
