That's the plan in my head. Add in a window for conversion into gold backed currency and free market valuation of the metal. If you are thinking they will stick to the old fiat, just with a much smaller supply, I doubt it. The world pretty much runs on dollars as it is. The world would have to switch to dollars. The rest of the world wouldn't like that.

All debt, except asset backed (mortgage) would be zeroed out. Hell maybe even the mortgage as bank reparations.
There's quadrillions in derivatives. Gold would be valued astronomically if you used that and seized assets to pay for all debt. Easier to zero it out.
Trade would balance out if people saw their nations gold going to (China), hopefully. Want to keep your gold? Make the cheap plastic crap yourself. Employ our own people and keep the gold circulating here.
Or the other end of the argument. The outgoing gold balances the trade. No trade deficits until one country runs out of gold. Then maybe China doesn't sell to us?
People were notorious in not following confiscation and was largely unenforced. Nobody would have done it but it was the great depression and people had to eat.
Even back then there was maybe 1/10th the amount of gold in reserve for the amount of dollars in circulation. Bank runs helped further the great depression.
Anons need to realize, that fiat central banking was largely used to finance the biggest scam. War. You gold back every dollar in existence and war becomes hugely unaffordable.
We had war before central banking…. but we also had slavery. Central banking is just slavery of all by other means.
