"Couldn't the easily observed dustification been caused by something else? Beside conventional demolition?."

The answer is simple.

The floors contained thousand of tons of concrete supported by steel beams. Some beams were even incased in concrete.

With thousands of tons of material crasing down on the next floor below the stree on the steel causes it to explode into a thousand pieces much like a piece of wood under that much stress that fast.

When incased in concrete ecplodes like this it turns the concrete to dustb same with the floor concrete.

Picture the amount of weight on a falling floor from the hundreds of thousands of tons on top of it. It's like a huge sledge hammer.
