Montel Williams has Multiple Sclerosis. As such he isn't exactly emotionally stable. And when the weather changes it just gets much worse. Winter is a very hard time for sufferers of MS.
I'd just be happy with one apt that addressed the medical problem rather than being another "let's just have you jump through these hoops to cover my ass."
