For the longest time nobody has gotten this right.

Ever watch birds? I mean really watch them? They sing:

  1. First thing in the morning at sunrise

  2. When confronting other birds of the same species over territory

  3. Some species sing right before sunset. Quail, etc.

  4. Caged birds don't sing when their cage is covered to block light; when the cover is removed, they sing.

Maybe we can put an end to the silly speculation about when birds sing.

"Sing" is also a slang phrase that refers to a person accused of a crime, deciding to dump and tell the truth about their own crime and about the involvement of others in crimes.

People in jail sing when accused of crimes and given a chance to save themselves by confessing
