==Fake Russian Bot Exp't Budget: $100,000 >>$750,000; Call for a Digg on AET & Mikey Dickerson==
12-27-18
This post shows the rapid progression of the story that began a week ago on an "experiment" allegedly run to understand the effects on online disinformation and where it's currently leading: to the American Engagement Technologies and its head, Mikey Dickerson.
After Q Post 2635, anons began taking a close look at what happened in the Alabama race between Roy Moore and Doug Jones, where DEM Jones beat REPUB Moore. It looked like the online disinformation experiment conducted by New Knowledge (Jonathon Morgan, CEO) was not just an academic experiment, but an attempt to influence the outcome on an election. The project supposedly cost $100,000, which was donated by Reid Hoffman, founder of Linked-In. But that story is changing fast.
[1] The NYT article that broke the story had referred to a budget of $100,000 as the budget for the disinformation project. In that article, the project was portrayed as very modest, a "social media project." Joe Trippi, advisor to the Jones campaign, said it was impossible "that a $100,000 operation had an impact on the race."

[2] The article by Fox (the one referenced by Q) mentioned the same $100,000 budget in paragraph 2, (said to come from an "internal report detailing the efforts"--NYT).

[3] The Daily Caller even used that $100,000 to compare the recent disinfo project with the alleged Russian bot project from 2016'''--on the basis that they had identical budgets.

[4] But in a just-published Daily Caller report (12-26-18), a new figure of $750,000 emerged:
The Hoffman-financed group allegedly used Facebook and Twitter to undermine support for Moore and boost Democrat Doug Jones, who narrowly won the race. Hoffman referred to a group he funded, American Engagement Technologies (AET), as being involved in the effort. He poured $750,000 into the organization, much of it going to the project, the report notes. Democratic operatives associated with the plan explained in an internal report leaked to The New York Times how the project sought to implant ideas into people’s heads.

So now we have not only a much expanded budget--$750,000--but a new player: American Engagement Technologies.
METHINKS IT'S TIME FOR A DIGG on American Engagement Technologies and its CEO, Mikey Dickerson.
[5] But we won't be the only diggers. The Alabama AG is launching his own investigation, as of today.
