Better perspective required.

A KP Index of 4 is not serious - we've seen far higher without major catastrophe (even fairly recently).

The GOES X-Ray flux you post is about as helpful as any zoomed in graph lacking context - I provide that against the relatively flat baseline of typical activity for the past few days here….

No need for alarm.

I know S0 (Ben). Careful who you follow.

He was right some years back to begin raising concerns over humanity's preparedeness for solar 'weather' at Earth, but since he quit his job his diligence has dropped massively and now he'll discuss anything that will boost his numbers, and thus his income.

Not quite a charlatan yet, but he's definitely drifted deep into the circle of fear pr0n purveyor.

Apologies - I neglected to answer your specific query RE: Pole flip/shift.

On Ben/S0's thougvhts on the pole flip;

I've been a registered ESA PI for some years now. Ben has not - nor does he take the time to review their data when it contradicts his own beliefs.

He will however, happily pounce on and laud any obscure paper he can find which might appear to lend support to his mental gymnastics.

Be cautious where you place your belief/faith. You are ALWAYS better informed, if/when you take the time to research/inform yourself.

Ben, like othodox scientists, still believes that a big whirly liquid dynamo inside our planetary core is what generates our magnetic field.

Likes to play EU (Electric Universe) proponent, but can't quite drag his left foot out of orthodox quantum nonsense.

I'm not being paid by anybody to be here, but even I will say:

Shillcock is one to be ignored. Notice how he's jumped on the Q bandwagon now that it's gaining?

Controlled opposition. Learn to recognise it.

They've had their players in place for years, waiting to be called up to service.

Remember Corsi, riii-i-iiight?

Or….

Far more likely to be a result of an induced ground current which tripped something at the power co.

Happens more often than you might realise….

Your suspicion might be justified if you completely ignore the fact that our atmosphere is between electrical double layers (ie; Ionosphere and 'ground').

Induced ground current from a relatively mild geomagnetic storm event (KP of not even 4), tripped a power plant out and it blew up pretty badly.

Breathe. And relax…..

You know what an EMP is though, right?

Because an EMP doesn't just trip out a power station. It fries/overloads the lectrical circuits of everything within it's effect radius that isn't shielded by a Faraday cage or similar.

With an EMP, nothing works - even after the power comes back on, or you dig our batteries.

Important to know this….

Lol yeah, I remember that. Pier Robitaille or summat spoke with him at a conference once, and Ben got all wet-dreamy on it and started parotting the liquid metallic hydrogen core nonsense.

He's too easily star-struck and goes into knee-bound-fellate mode or summat….

This is not abnormal.

Until you get to KP of 6+, it's not usually a concern for inducing ground currents that might cause us power distribution issues, but it's not unhear dof for ground based effects at KP4+ (depends on the polarity of that which passed over the ionosphere which induced the ground current).

Looks like we may be enteringa mild geomag storm, but it's in progress, so too easy to call as causal (S0 will jump all over it though, just watch his daily news today, if you can stomach unecessary fear pr0n - I gave him up a couple of years back)

Relearn what you 'think' you understand about Gravity.

See archive.org for a copy of Ken Wheeler's 'Missing Secrets of Magnetism'.

When you get your head around it, you might have a valuable thought or few on much more, that is worth expression….
