‘No Skeletons in My Closet’: Angelina Jolie Hints at U.S. Presidential Run

Actress and human rights advocate Angelina Jolie has refused to rule out a political career and hinted a run for U.S. president in 2020 is not beyond the realms of possibility.

Speaking during an interview on the BBC’s Today program in London, Jolie said she would have dismissed any thought of political ambition 20 years ago but would now go where she felt she was needed.

The 43-year-old, who is a special envoy to the U.N. Refugee Agency, was the guest editor of the show on Friday when she made the revelation.

Democrats want legislative counsel with experience in: “criminal law, immigration law, constitutional law, intellectual property law, commercial and administrative law (including antitrust and bankruptcy), or oversight work,” according to CNN.

“They’re finding us,” Democratic Rep. Adam Smith told CNN Friday. “There are a lot of Democratic refugees out there after the Republicans took over the House, the Senate and the White House.”

Democrats are set to take control of the House on Jan. 3.

Congressional Democrats have said they will target Trump’s tax returns, his businesses, financial dealings, as well as former and current cabinet members who served under him.

One Democratic House committee posted an ad on a job board on Capitol Hill immediately following November’s midterm election. The job posting did not name a specific committee, but said it will look to “conduct congressional investigations and advise on policy matters related to oversight of the executive branch,” CNN reported.

Mulvaney: Pelosi Hiding From Shutdown Negotiations Because She ‘Does Not Have The Votes’ For Speaker

Acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney theorized that one reason Rep. Nancy Pelosi has refused to negotiate with President Trump on border wall funding could be that she “does not have the votes” for Speaker of the House.

Mulvaney’s comments came as a part of a larger conversation about border wall negotiations on “Fox & Friends” Friday morning.

“Chuck Schumer voted for border security in 2006,” Mulvaney explained, drawing attention to the fact that Democrats haven’t always been against controlling the border. “He voted for it again I think in 2011. It seems like Democrats really like border security when there is a Democrat in office and don’t like it when Donald Trump is in office.”

Although Schumer seemed to be willing to come to “some sort of compromise” the last time they met, “the more we’re hearing this week is that it is Nancy Pelosi who is preventing that from happening,” Mulvaney explained.

When asked about any behind the scenes negotiations possibly taking place, Mulvaney said, “No, they left town” during the shutdown and in time for the holidays:

And I think the reason they did is because Nancy Pelosi, in fairness, does not have the votes for the speakership yet. She cannot be seen by her party as being weak on negotiating with Donald Trump. So we fully expect that until she is elected speaker and has locked that vote up, we don’t expect to hear from the Democrats again. They told us last night that they were not countering our last offer.

CONFIRMED: Comey Approved FISA Warrant Without Any Knowledge of Trump-Russia ‘Collusion’

Fired former FBI director James Comey approved the series of FISA warrants to surveil President Donald Trump’s team without having any knowledge whatsoever that Trump or his campaign colluded with Russia.

With no evidence of any Russian collusion, and with the Operation Crossfire Hurricane conspiracy falling apart, it is now important to look at James Comey’s own admissions in his behind-closed-doors testimony with House Republicans including from the Oversight Committee. The aggression with which the Freedom Caucus Republicans went after Comey clearly stunned the disgraced ex-director and his Democrat supporters including Elijah Cummings.

Comey said in his testimony that in July 2016, when all of this started, the FBI “didn’t know whether we had anything.”

Comey reportedly offered his first sign-off on a FISA warrant in October 2016, and those FISA’s kept getting renewed for a while until good faith actors in the Trump administration realized the extent of what was going on.

Comey also said: “in fact, when I was fired as director, I still didn’t know whether there was anything to it.”
