Our Present Situation! Congress Loves To Exempt Themselves From Their Own Laws

Children of Congress members do not have to pay back their college student loans.

Staffers of Congress family members are also exempt from having to pay back student loans.

Members of Congress can retire at full pay after only one term.

Members of Congress have exempted themselves from many of the laws they have passed, under which ordinary citizens must live.

For example, they are exempt from any fear of prosecution for sexual harassment. And as the latest example, they have exempted themselves from Healthcare Reform, in all of its aspects.

We must not tolerate an elite class of such people, elected as public servants and then putting themselves above the law.

The TRUMP Rules: Congressional Reform Act of 2017

1. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman/woman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they’re out of office. And, no more perks go with them.

1. Congress (past, present, & future) participates in Social Security. All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose.

1. Congress must purchase their own retirement plan, just as ALL Americans do.

1. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

1. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.

1. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people (i.e. NO MORE INSIDER TRADING!!!).

1. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen/women. Congress made all these contracts by and for themselves.

Serving in Congress is an honor and privledge NOT a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators should serve their term(s), then go home and go back to work … not get all kinds of freebies.

Turkish President Says Syrian Army Runs “Psychological Operation” In Manbij

In his first response to the reportedly deployment of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in Manbij, Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the Damascus government is running a “psychological operation” in the northern city.

“Turkey’s goal is to teach YPG [the People’s Protection Units]/PKK [the Kurdistan Workers’ Party] terror group a lesson, and we’re determined to make it happen,” Erdogan told a number of reports on December 28, according to the Anadolu Agency.

“We are against the partitioning of Syria. Our goal is terrorist groups leaving there. If the [terrorist] groups leave, then there is no job left for us,” the Turkish president added.

A proposed Pentagon plan will offer security and and jobs to Taliban fighters in Afghanistan.

As of July 27, 2018, there have been 2,372 U.S. military deaths in the War in Afghanistan. 1,856 of these deaths have been the result of hostile action. Many of these deaths were a result of Taliban attacks on US soldiers and Marines.

‘No Skeletons in My Closet’: Angelina Jolie Hints at U.S. Presidential Run

Actress and human rights advocate Angelina Jolie has refused to rule out a political career and hinted a run for U.S. president in 2020 is not beyond the realms of possibility.

Speaking during an interview on the BBC’s Today program in London, Jolie said she would have dismissed any thought of political ambition 20 years ago but would now go where she felt she was needed.

The 43-year-old, who is a special envoy to the U.N. Refugee Agency, was the guest editor of the show on Friday when she made the revelation.

When asked whether she would consider getting involved in politics, she said: “If you asked me 20 years ago, I would’ve laughed… I always say I’ll go where I’m needed, I don’t know if I’m fit for politics… but then I’ve also joked that I don’t know if I have a skeleton left in my closet”.

“I’m also able to work with governments and I’m also able to work with militaries, and so I sit in a very interesting place of being able to get a lot done.”

She added that “for now”, she would stay quiet, leaving open the possibility for a tilt further down the line. She continued:

I always say I’ll go where I’m needed, I don’t know if I’m fit for politics, but then I’ve also joked that I don’t know if I have a skeleton left in my closet so I’m pretty open and out there. I honestly will do whatever I think can really make change, and right now I am able to work with a UN agency that is the most in the field of all the UN agencies, to do a lot of work directly with the people in need.

Jolie has been a critic of President Donald Trump’s policies in the past, saying his 2017 executive order temporarily suspending the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program is like “playing with fire” and will “worsen” America’s war against terrorists.
