Just an FYI to anyone who has breads open in their browser - if a bread got 404'd but you happened to have it open, then you may have that content still open in your browser.
So everyone might be careful for a bit to avoid closing browser tabs with bread. Just in case someone accidentally archived something significant. Hopefully it's all archived successfully at 8chan making this irrelevant …
(Agree a cause may be significantly before last night, this is just a suggestion for forensic precaution)
Um … while I'm posting, what else to say? That was interesting. I'm holding back on posting generally for the moment, to keep loads down while making sure the backend is stable. (Just this one for obvious reasons)
I saw some of the craziness start last night, but decided I couldn't sort it out while half asleep. Will be good to get a rundown on what happened by those who saw more.
As for a trigger for a takedown being far in advance due to logistics - likely so, but is there a chance of a preinstalled kill switch the black hats may have installed and fired remotely when needed? I suppose analysis at the data center will bring needed info to light.
And o7 to everyone involved in getting us back online!
