Every institution has its corruption. The belief that one system is pure over the others is part of what evil uses to keep itself secure.
I find it even hard to believe that on the Council of 300, all of them are purely evil. It's a "game" that has been played for eons among the elite. There have been many such councils, many secret organizations and alliances… Even those who are not of malicious intent toward the public are left with what cards they have in their hand. Until someone somehow wins the game, the others will always have cards they can play.
Q's declaration of already having won the game is understandably unnerving to many at the table - even if what Q is saying is something they agree with in principle. To win the game requires an amount of power that can subvert or crush the other players. Winner takes all. Not only would most find it unbelievable that someone has, after thousands of years, finally won - but the idea of someone having enough power to win is absolutely terrifying in a real sense.
The masonic orders are a mixed bag. Their understanding of their own beliefs are often tainted by the projections of what has become the face of Christianity.
The foundational principle behind the masons is that knowledge is a gift that must be cultivated within each individual. We can argue day and night about whether or not "God" and "Lucifer" are good/evil respectively, but that misses the point of the icon of Prometheus, and even Zeus.
Zeus represents authority and law. Prometheus represents knowledge and wit. The two are naturally going to clash at times when wit challenges the rationale of the law. If the greek gods and goddesses were the personification of the facets of society, then the titans were personifications of the facets of individuals. Somewhere along the way, the cult mentalities took over and we've had people hopping the short bus to enlightenment.

Why does everyone assume there was an attack?
Board has been running very smooth for me. Circuit failures do not put a board in "read-only" mode. Breads have been flying by fairly quickly since everything came back up.
Stress test failed?
Welcome to new hosting hardware. Tinyboard is a very interesting concept as a "Citizen Band" of the internet. Goes very much in line with the idea of DARPANET.
