I had a dream the other day, anon.
I was taking a test. I was told that many things aside from the actual questions on the paper were also part of the test. I was one of the fill-ins for the test period - a few other people washed out and I was next on deck.
I was assigned an observer, who would be both a primary assessor and an assistant for the process.
I was never able to get things situated properly in my bag, right from the get-go, I was always carrying something that I should have put in my bag, and it was always so noisy and cumbersome to try and get things situated.
I go up to sign in on the roster for taking the test, and the roster is made up of rows of sticker-like sections with slots for three names, each.
I go to sign in on the next available space, the third slot in a sticker. Because I am "that guy" for this, I don't have a pen. Taking one from the desk, I begin to write my name. The ink comes out as a fucking rainbow color. Well, that's what I get for not having a pen on me, I guess - so, I just keep writing. However, no matter how hard I try to focus, the letters just do not form. I try to one-line and repeat as we are taught in the military… And the whole thing still just looks like schizophrenic chicken-scratch. The other people all signed in in cursive, I noticed.
I move to just toss the sticker in the trash and get a new one - but then I realize there are two other names with it. I can't sign in for them or go interrupt their test over my error - so I leave it be.
Sometimes, you can tell more about a person from what they show you they value than what you can tell by using a measure of their proficiency.
