She wasn't fired for expressing her first amendment rights (flipping the bird). No one would have known it was her.

 

She was fired for showing poor judgement in making herself known and polluting her image as a marketing and communications specialist.

 

You cannot alienate half of your prospective marketing targets in such a cavalier manner without consequences to you, if fired, or your employer, if not.

 

Freedom comes with a price… the lowest cost is responsibility for the consequences of your actions.
