It's funny what occurred to me today. I grew up in New England. And while not affluent or rich, we vacationed on Martha's Vineyard every summer, using a friend's summer home for 2 weeks.
On MV- now the playground of the cabal, there are no gaudy chain restaurants, stores, or shopping malls. Everything is small, privately owned, and local.
