Bringing this over from last bread. Here's why I think it's significant.

 

First, it's a capitalist, conservative thing to do.

 

Second, Trump has always said Mexico will build the 'Wall'. What if the 'wall' is border-wide corridor of economic enterprise zones on the Mexican side? Higher wages and lower taxes there will spur growth. People will move there and build communities…communities they don't want to be overrun with Central Americans trying to get to the U.S.

 

We've seen in Tijuana how the Mexicans don't want the migrants in their prosperous towns either.

 

Mexico could be building a 'wall' of prosperous communities along the border that could be on very friendly trade terms with the U.S. while at the same time acting as a filter through which crime and drugs will have a harder time penetrating.

 

Of course, I'm just spitballin'…but as soon as I read this story, that's the plan that unfolded in my mind.

agree we need a barrier but i won't assume they will vote democrat. republicans offer much more for those truly seeking safety, freedom, and a better life than the dems.
