The first thing I noted was the sequence NML - 141312. Makes me think mirror is going to play the whole decode backwards. To do that I'm just going to relabel them all temporarily so you'll see the mirror.

So the highest is 17 - which is Q. But the lowest is 4 meaning we have a transform of 3 that's coming up (i.e. subtract 3 from every letter value).
So let's do the mirror and put the number values next to each letter.

The stuff after the period was only used for sequencing, so let's throw it away.

So looking at the numbers now in terms of blocks, we have three blocks, two of which have a zero in them. The first block has a zero in the third place, the third block has a zero in the second place. So that's a count down: 3, 2, 1.
That means we have an extra 1 somewhere in the second block.
