You haven't been paying attention, then.
Amazing what some people will do for money, isn't it?
Anon, I understand your frustration - yet it's really quite simple. There are limits to what we can do within a civil framework of society. I can stand up and scream for justice to be done and all that other fun stuff in many various ways - but most people live paycheck to paycheck. They aren't going to go out and protest, and the reality is that there are limits to what that can achieve, as well.
Either I give the institutions empowered to use force a chance to work - or I decide to use force, myself. Should that become necessary, then I can't take half measures. That means a lot of people will die. I am not above strategic actions and resource denial (humans being a resource).
This idea that we are just going to stand up as a unified people if a bunch of us just go out there and proclaim revolution is delusional. We will be fighting ourselves far harder than we have to fight against the real enemy, and I am not good at persuading people, but very good at devising means and strategies to kill them - in a race against time, I can only appropriate what is useful and destroy what is not.
That's not how I believe people should be treated, and it's why I'll give Q a shot.
