The irony of "Anonymous" and its usage of Guy Fawkes as a symbol of resistance to tyranny is thicker than the all the idiots they criticize.
Fawkes was a monarchist, a servant of Rome, and a terrorist lamenting the fact that the opponents of divine-right monarchy were victorious, something he hoped to remedy by blowing up all the members of Parliament who were dedicated to free speech, free trade, and opposed to being ruled by the Papacy, which had conspired with its servants to put to death numerous "heretics" who dared to question the legitimacy of the world power.
Fawkes was anything but a hero.
