methinks Mitt is "running for office" due to impending indictment. just a hunch.
the premise of this whole charade doesn't make sense:

if someone paid them, how could this hacker group be prevented from releasing the docs (or selling them again)?

this group included terrorist groups (by name) in a list of hypothetical potential customers. Uhhhh, right.

the timing is the most suspicious of all factors. seems clear that it's a clown op meant to expose and intimidate all the players (i.e., a protective and collective threat)
