Not sure why they released in middle of day. Usually before or after bell. Maybe word got out and why trading was halted.

Apple lowers quarterly revenue forecast

(Reuters) - Apple Inc (AAPL.O) on Wednesday said its current quarter revenue will be lower than its original forecast, citing fewer iPhone upgrades and weakness in emerging markets.

"While we anticipated some challenges in key emerging markets, we did not foresee the magnitude of the economic deceleration, particularly in Greater China," Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook said in a letter to investors.

Like I mentioned, word may have leaked of earnings before release and bell. Looks like they released after bell close on a second look. They want people to be able to read the report rather than quick judge based on a headline. Trading will resume tomorrow.
