WHAT IS 80+?
20:02 in to Cabinet meeting POTUS mentions "80+" related to North Korea: https:// www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXYX7imvbeQ
Seemed a curious phrase to utter considering it's only been 70 years since DPRNK was established in 1948.
So.. I started to dig on 80+ (and even H+) which led to this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/80_Plus:
"80 Plus (trademarked 80 PLUS) is a voluntary certification program intended to promote efficient energy use in computer power supply units (PSUs). Launched in 2004 by Ecos Consulting, it certifies products that have more than 80% energy efficiency at 20%, 50% and 100% of rated load, and a power factor of 0.9 or greater at 100% load. 20% or less electric energy as heat at the specified load levels, reducing electricity use and bills compared to less efficient PSUs."
Ecos Consulting (https:// www.ecosresearch.com/meet-the-team) is based in San Francisco and not surprisingly is cited by PG&E: https:// www.pge.com/pge_global/common/pdfs/save-energy-money/savings-programs/zero-net-energy-program/ZNE-Resource-Guide.pdf
Working so don't have more time to dig on this but maybe somebody wants to look more into ECOS Research and 80+ program…
