Can I just clarify something for my fellow Planefags? The AZAZ0909 flights all used a zero as the next to last digit until just before Christmas, when planes with a capitalised O as the next to last digit started to appear.

These planes are my obsession. I think that the change from 0 to O signifies Obama, but the planes always seem to be running ahead of the news by a few weeks.

It may signify that the 'Fast & Furious' drug and gun-running operations that Obama set up are about to break into the mainstream news.

No, they introduce a delay in the data so that security isn't compromised. We only get to see what they want us to see though; the planes have to have ADS-B or M-LAT installed and fighters wouldn't normally have these, they would only have IFF (identification Friend or Foe) radar.
