Because someone has a motivation to alter or falsify their contents?
In the Turner-Fauntleroy letter (pp. 2-3 of doc) Turner denies that any U.S. Journalist is employed by the CIA.
However that denial is hollow if SOMEBODY ELSE is paying the journalists to work for the CIA.
Paragraph 3 is also full of weasel words.
