Just like Rosewell, if they wanted us to learn and were throwing us a bone, they would just crash a "ship" somewhere we could find it. Otherwise, they would purposefully evade detection.
Therefore, the "UFOs" we've all grown familiar with are indeed distractions in that our species has found plenty of ways in which to reverse-engineer these things, and utilizes them in such a way that distracts from happenings we shouldn't be noticing, as most people don't have the privilege of accessing this classified information.
What most seem to misunderstand about what Q said, however, is their assumption that all UFOs are indeed a distraction. Q essentially tells us that it's not a simple yes or no answer to this question. See, we know there is something out there as evidenced by the very obviously withheld and closely guarded top secret information about ETs. They are there. In fact, they've tried to communicate with us plenty of times. Unfortunately, our own people's use the types of technology we've discovered to attempt to control one another.
