Something tells me the American Masonic societies have group that break from tradition, is it then masonic or is it something else?

Freemasons are Free Masons, they are individuals, free to follow their own plans and find the nefarious, or well-meaning, goal.

 

I think most Masons are good, well-meaning, people. But there seems to be lodges in the US that has been compromised with nefarious individuals.

Also, remember, history is written by the winners. Adolf murdered and persecuted Masons, and Adolf didn't lose.
