honestly, it's hard to explain but usually you can tell immediately, you just know (even before they put it those flashing tripcodes).

then read the post, and if that still doesn't do it, see how the wave of replies just isn't the same at all, no mood change or momentum shift like when real drops come in.

it's a surprisingly well kept half-secret that it was actually proven when a screenshot of Q's post history was shown during one of the tripcode switches. but BO & BV's decision was to follow Q's lead on (the one post we got to see, but understandably others) and keep it mum, not including them in archives, etc. it keeps you wondering, but i'd say i agree… i try not to cheat like i just did too often.

we know there are the watchers, and Qteam has eyes on all the time, and it's obviously not the same single human all the time… the post history thing showed strictly the posts directly linked to devices/tripcode posts, but no telling if and how many anons among us aren't that anon at any time…
some of the early fake posts, before the tripcodes, were pretty well made - back then the caps confirmations and compilations in the oldschool "maps" were necessary.
besides that, VQC types might have had some attention-worthy stuff sometimes, but i'll admit seeing them mostly as hangers on who ultimately just helped us solidify our read of the actual Q
