It really only speaks to Mueller and not to WilmerHale’s much longer list that is obviously unavailable.
-
(February 2016) He was paid $40,000 to speak at a Citi sponsored event in Rye, NY
-
(June 2016) He was paid $52,000 to speak at a “Banamex” event at “Punta Mira, Mexico”. Punta Miri is really Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco. Also, “Banamex” is really CitiBanamex. It is the Mexican subsidiary of Citi, who bought it in 2011.
-
The largest and most vocal shareholder of Citi is Saudi Arabian Prince Alwaleed.
-
Mueller lists no speaking fee for his November 15-17, 2016 speech at the CitiBanamex sponsored Paley Center conference he attended. So that one was personal.
-
Do you know who Citi bought Banamex from? They bought Banamex from Eduardo Sánchez Hernández and a partner. Sanchez Hernández is shown seated at the opposite end of the dais at the Nov 16 Paley conference reception hosted by Mexican President Pena Nieto.

6 Eduardo Sánchez Hernández’s partner in the sale of Banamex to Citi was Alfredo Harp Helú. Alfredo Harp Helú Is famous for owning all the phones in Mexico that his first cousin’s company does not. Want to know who his first cousin is? Yep, Carlos Slim Helú.

After Citi bought it and started curtailing the money laundering, it quickly shrunk from the largest bank in both Mexico and Latin America to second. They deserve credit though.

Carlos Slim Helú has been trying to bully them into selling it to him.
