Dumb question but….last bread some anons were discussing how the NSA has special chips and spyware installed in every computer. I have always had my built-in camera covered with electrical tape after noticing once that the camera was on when I never use that function, but now I'm wondering if they can also see us through the screen, as in the screen is two-way?
So you're trying to tell me that privacy is dead, and not coming back?
Sigh…that's what I thought. But seriously, can they see us through our computer screens?
Thanks. I'm a bit of a techno-dolt but what you are saying makes sense. Besides, it seems like such an overwhelming task to watch and listen to everyone 24/7…not to mention boring, in my case at least.
Agree. For me, that's one of the real paradoxes of all this. The good guys are saving the world by using the tools we would normally ascribe to the bad guys. There is also a slightly disturbing "by any means necessary" ethos, which I understand given the level evil they are battling, but which I worry is a genie that can't be put back into the bottle when the battles are over. Will the future really be "glorious", or will it be a relentless march toward an inevitable dystopia?
How would that work?
