So just getting back to the boards after a break. Decided to see how much money was specifically spent on unaccompanied minors in the USAspending.gov database. One thing leads to another as usual.
The terminology I ended up with was "unaccompanied alien children". Geographically (and unsurprisingly) Texas is the biggest recipient of monies for UAC at $2.2+ Billion. However, hovering over the map, it was interesting to see that Illinois ($173 M) beat out NY ($118 M) and California ($104 M).
While looking around, found a group called Southwest Key Programs, Inc. In the USAspending database they have rec'd over $1.8 Billion dollars, the majority of which is in the form of grants which will not be repaid. And that's just one agency.
Or how about the "Vera Institute of Justice" which is in the business of training pro bono attorneys to represent illegals? Love their pic, don't you?
The wall could be paid for just in cost savings, but I s'pose we can't talk about that.
