CNN Panel Gets Heated When Former Trump Adviser Says Some Federal Workers Treating Shutdown Like ‘A Paid Vacation’

A CNN discussion about the ongoing partial government shutdown got heated Friday night after former Trump economic adviser Stephen Moore suggested that some federal workers were treating the shutdown like a “paid vacation.”

“Private sector workers face layoffs,” he continued. “There are strikes. You talked about coal miners. They lose their jobs. That happens in the private sector all the time.”

Moore noted the differences between federal employees with “basically lifetime tenure,” who are often “impossible to fire,” and private sector workers.

“These workers are going to get paid,” said Moore.

“You don’t know that,” Rampell responded.

“A lot of them are treating this like … a paid vacation because it is for a lot — they will get eventually paid. They’re going to get paid vacation,” said Moore.

DHS, CBP want access to survey SpaceX property

SpaceX confirmed Wednesday that officials with the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Customs and Border Protection have requested access to the property where rockets could one day launch to Mars.

“The Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Customs and Border Protection recently requested SpaceX permit access to our South Texas Launch site to conduct a site survey,” SpaceX Spokesman James Gleeson said in a statement. “At this time, SpaceX is evaluating the request and is in communication with DHS to further understand their plans.”

The development comes as SpaceX continues to work on its launch pad and while the company owned by entrepreneur Elon Musk, who recently visited the South Texas Launch site, is building a prototype of the Starship spacecraft that may one day take people to Mars.

The only announcement the federal government has made about building more border wall infrastructure in Cameron County is that it will fill in 11 gaps in the existing wall.

On Nov. 29, CBP announced it had awarded $3,731,380 for the construction of seven gates with a $1,985,525 option for four additional gates to Gideon Contracting, a San Antonio firm, on Oct. 3. Construction began on Nov. 30.

Just two weeks ago Facebook censored an image of Santa Claus kneeling before the Christ child.

Just last week Facebook censored a post honoring slain California Officer Cpl. Ronil Singh.

Singh was shot dead on Christmas night by an illegal alien.

Stories like this are common today in the United States.

Facebook eliminates conservative content, Twitter shadow-bans conservative users, Google hides links to conservative outlets and news, YouTube demonetizes conservative pages, Wikipedia litters conservative pages with smears, Amazon prevents advertising on conservative publications.

CA now confiscating ammunition, gun magazines under ‘red flag’ law

On Jan. 7, California will say goodbye to their Governor, Jerry Brown, who leaves behind a legacy of gun control measures. Brown has passed a series of gun confiscation laws that were extended at the start of the new year to include the seizure of ammunition and some magazines when guns are confiscated.

He approved Senate Bill 1200, which “adds ammunition and bullet drums to the list of items related to firearms that can be confiscated,” according to KCRA News.

During the execution of a Gun Violence Restraining Order (GVRO), authorities have the legal right to seize “the owner’s gun, accessories, and ammunition.” It also eliminates any fees incurred for obtaining the GVRO.

On Jan. 1, Domestic Violence and Firearms Assembly Bill 3129 became law and places a lifelong ban on the possession of guns for anyone who has been found guilty of domestic violence after Jan. 1, 2019. It does not apply to prior convictions.

German cyber defense agency defends handling of data breach

BERLIN (Reuters) - Germany's BSI cyber defense agency on Saturday defended its role in responding to a far-reaching data breach, saying it could not have connected individual cases it was aware of last year until the entire data release became public.

The government said on Friday that personal data and documents from hundreds of German politicians and public figures had been published online, in what appeared to be one of Germany's most far-reaching data breaches.

The story has shocked the establishment and prompted calls for security agencies to clarify whether any security deficiencies they were aware of had been exploited.

The BSI said in a statement that it had been contacted by a lawmaker in early December about suspicious activity on their private email and social media accounts.

"Only by becoming aware of the release of the data sets via the Twitter account 'G0d' on Jan. 3, 2019, could the BSI in a further analysis on Jan. 4, 2019 connect this case and four other cases that the BSI became aware of during 2018," it said.

"At the beginning of December 2018, it was not foreseeable that there would be more cases."

Democrats to introduce a bill criminalizing private gun sales

This new communist Democrat congress just keeps getting better and better! Not only did they just give themselves another vacation (after coming back for one day), next week they plan to introduce a bill to actually criminalizing private gun sales. This bill of course if it even passed the House would die in the Senate so there’s no cause for concern now. Just remember crap like this when the Democrats grab the Senate and presidency eventually, as the indoctrination continues. I’ll say this about the communist Democrat House. The bill seeks to put background checks in place for all gun sales, requiring a daughter to get a background check before her mother can give her a gun or a son to get a background check before a father can give him one. It would also require a lifelong friend to get a background check before he can a gun from his lifelong friend.
