Just curious, anyone think that dinner at the Italian Embassy for Nancy Pelosi, attended by the likes ignore Bill and Hillary Clinton, was more than just a celebratory dinner?

Secure embassy, exclusive guest list, Italian equivalent of a SCIF. Also, was this a work around for a good cover story so the vatican has a reason to attend?

As the minimal news coverage of this story focused purely upon Tony Bennet singing, i’m thinking there was much much more to this who event.

Any way to get a full guest list? Rough timelines? What did NP or HRC tweet during/afterwards that could indicate topics of discussion.

And then just the biggest elephant, how is this legal for not just a sitting representative, but for the Speaker of house to accept this whole event thrown in her honor FROM A FOREIGN NATION? Why was it not held at a ballroom or convention center somewhere in the city? Security reasons are not a good enough excuse. Not in DC where they are used to catering towards VIPs. So what good reason did NP have to accept this whole event? Did she pay for it with her re-election funds? How would the financing on that work since she used a foreign embassy? Would this be considered accepting a gift from a foreign country?
