Anon, these people do not care for you or I. Period. End of story. We are tools and means to an end.
Most people can't "stop going to work" - unless they like starving to death and getting kicked out of their homes. Large banks do not care. The small bank sold your mortgage to them. You might be able to get leniency from employers, but from property owners, no.
If it gets too bad, they have plans to kill you.
There are three ways this ends.
One: we kill them and many of each other in the chaos and confusion. There is not going to be an "us versus them" war. That is delusional and a trap. There will be wars among people who see each other as a threat, and as a group's influence grows, so too will their enemies. Old rivalries and bitter blood will come to the surface. You will need a totalitarian warlord to unify the factions and beat belligerents into submission if you want to see any kind of efficient movement this way.
Two: a counter-conspiracy within the government. Careful placement of strategic resources and actors to act in concert to bring about exposure and changes. This plan takes time and careful planning - secrecy, as well. Has greatest potential for a peaceful change.
Three: we lose. The surveillance net goes into place, government control is solidified. Carbon is pumped out of the atmosphere to kill all but grasses and humanity dies by the billion. Civilization is restructured around centrally planned colonies with controlled food supplies and populations. They are programmed from cradle to grave in a religion worshipping the system they are slave to and humanity ceases to exist, spiritually. There are a small group of people who control all meaningful development and course.
I have a contingency for even that … But it is dragonspeak.
These people will not "see you are serious." They may try to act in their own interest to get you to settle down, but make no mistake that you are to be broken into a useful tool to their ends, or destroyed if you won't be and represent a credible threat. Pedantic displays of emotion will not persuade them to see you in a different light.
